French Braid It Is!

As I continued to think of a topic, I asked myself 'has there been anything I have talked about wanting to do or learn and have yet to start?' I found my answer - learn how to French braid. I've talked about this numerous times, and in fact recall having this as one of my goals this summer. Oops, I guess I never accomplished hat one. Anyway, my daughter is almost twelve and sadly the only type of hairdo I mastered thus far is a ponytail and basic braid. I always admire the hairstyles some of my students come in with and often joke with them that I am going to have their mom teach me how to do hair. Well, thanks to this Genius Hour I will now teach myself how to French braid!

In preparation for this, I did a quick Google search on - how to French braid. If things progress rapidly I will move on to a double French braid, other braid variations, and perhaps French braid my own hair. For starters, I have included some sites I am going to look into a bit further:

In order not to put my daughter through torture the of hair pulling I will use her American Girl dolls as my guinea pigs. Once I feel confident I am ready to move on to a live being, I will recruit my daughter for the true test run.
