Telling Your School's Story

An assignment I really enjoyed was creating a school video. Specifically, I created a 60 second video telling my school's story. This was both fun and challenging at the same time. It was fun because I enjoy creating videos and going through lots of pictures from the past year. In the same token, it was also challenging because 60 seconds is very quick and I had to be precise and narrow things down to fit.

I included this artifact because I believe it is a necessary for schools to have a vision and to share that vision with other. As the resources indicated, people yearn for information and want to have that information at their fingertips. Because of this, sharing a school’s vision should be quick and easily accessible. In this day and age, social presences is one of the preferred methods.

I believe Cicero School District has made great strides in regard to its social presence. Just in my three years with the district, I have seen not only a website revamp, but the addition of a Facebook account and a Twitter handle. Additionally there has been a new logo, motto, clothing, and stationery to name a few things that have changed. Basically a rebranding/reimaging of the district was executed. Perhaps they can add school videos like the one I created to enhance their presence for the individual schools.
