Multimedia Tools in Education
As I reflect back on my most recent course, Multimedia Tools in Education, the first thing that comes to mind is exciting. We had some wonderful discussions in class regarding the use of videos, recordings, trailers, and the likes in the classroom. There were lots of neat, interactive tools we explored that we could use to enhance lessons and use in our teaching areas. We learned multimedia tools can be used as a resource for enrichment as well as to assist struggling readers.
Some of the highlights of the class were the video trailers and audio recordings. There were some phenomenal video trailers created which offered great ideas for future reference. It was also interesting to note that most of my classmates were worried about their voices when recording audio for their students. After several attempts and after we listened to one another's recordings, it was apparent we were all in the same boat in regard to fear. Overcoming this fear will subside with more use of audio.
As a computer teacher I have always been comfortable using multimedia tools in the classroom. However, I feel I have gained some terrific ideas and tools to add to my teaching repertoire. Lastly, I noticed the class grew with their comfort level in using multimedia tools. It is always wonderful to see someone blossom whether it be one of your students or a fellow classmate.

Teresa, thanks for sharing. I think it's funny how it seems like we all hate the sound of our own voices. It doesn't seem like we realize that our voices actually sound the way they were recorded. We don't get to hear ourselves like everyone else hears us. I also learned a lot from this class and had fun. But you are right, as we progressed through the class, we all got more comfortable with our recordings. I can't wait to start using more of these tools in class.
